3rd February 2024 Hiking - Walking: Landguard circuit Wind Direction: W Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: 13 Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny periods and mild Max Speed: Distance Covered: 2.50 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Saturday 3rd February - walk *** – Landguard cicuit – sunny periods and mild. With a run mild mild breezy weather I decided to give windsurfing a miss today so did my exercises and as we had to do a big shop being early in a new month we headed down to the Manor for a walk around Landguard Nature Reserve:) Parking at 12.30 I took my big lens for a different perspective today, sadly there were very few birds to be seen as we set off through the blackberry bushes, sheltered from the westerly wind, we had a little sun and it was very mild and we were really overdressed! As a container ship was heading into Felixstowe docks we made a small detour to the view point where the breeze hit us, certainly windy enough for a foil! We walked along the Orwell with a few yachts out and the returning pilot boat returning. Then back across the nature reserve seeing a Ringed Plover and several pigeons plus a few fisherman with several people enjoying the good weather, better than forecast:) Back along the sea wall to the van and onto Lidl before returning home to watch England play Italy in the six nations, England hardly set the world alight with their performance, cant see them winning it this year and the wheels have defiately come off Ipswich Towns title push with another loss :( Photo Album here |
